ETHICS

What does "ETHICS" means?

Most of the population knows about this word, however, they do not really understand this concept. Ethics is known as the branch of philosophy that investigates and promote a critical reflection of the values that guide our decisions and behaviours.

Pedro Robles:

“Do we use any strategies that regulate the use of technologies on kids?”

Technologies have grown substantially during the last decade. They have changed our lives, making it much easier. In the same way, they affect little kids. The development of technologies has reached these new costumers. Nowadays, the children have mobile phones or other technologies as computers or game consoles, since they are 10 years old. Their parents are not conscious of the effect that technologies are having on kids. There are cases in which they prefer to stay watching TV or playing with the game console, instead of playing with their friends on the park or everywhere. This would spark on social or physical problems into the children.

Luis Rodriguez:

Ethical problems are problems caused by one or more individuals that can affect a community and also himself.
Nowadays we can find some ethics problems related with the technology such as:

Three parent babies’ debate or discussion related to biological technologies:

The issue of three-parent babies has divided the scientific community and thrown up a host of ethical concerns. Here are the arguments for and against the new procedure, which proposes to mend faulty DNA with genetic material from a ‘second mother’.

·         3-D printing

Scientists are attempting to use 3-D printing to create everything from architectural models to human organs which is a great and positive thing, but we could be looking at a future in which we can print personalized pharmaceuticals or home-printed guns and explosives which can affect directly the society and create more ethical problems or issues. For now, 3-D printing is largely the realm of artists and designers, but we can easily envision a future in which 3-D printers are affordable and patterns abound for products both benign and malicious, and that cut out the manufacturing sector completely. Generally, we think that 3-D printing is a great technological progress or innovation but we need to look the opposite side and it can be really damage for our future society.

Enrique Reina Gutiérrez

Technology is developing in a rapidly way, developing more than what we believe, however, we are not conscious of how this affect our way of behaving and been.

Principally, I am going to focus at the newest emerging technologies of telecommunications, such as WhatsApp and skype.

This technologies try to simulate the real contact and is time to see the comebacks of this technologies.

For a first instance, the first considerable problem is the addiction that more and more people are starting to suffer and experiment. As humans, we are a species that we need to communicate, we need to live in groups, so the need of communication comes at our DNA. However, we are letting more and more this necessity to reach dangerous levels.

This technologies has offer us to communicate globally and because we want more and more, we get addicted to it. The clearest example is the change of how kids evolve from not having mobile phones into phones dependent, because of the fact that they need to socialize.

Also, social networks have developed extreme cases of “communication addiction”, giving to the users more and more need for acceptation. We are changes our basic priorities to stupid ones such as having a lot of followers or being known. But the most characteristic problem of this, is how I said, the need of acceptation that has caused. This have influenced in the children thoughts as: Having more WhatsApp’s contacts better I am or having more like in social medias, better I am, etc. This is making kids underestimate themeselves.

To sum up, due to these new ways of communication, we are changing or capacity of seeing ourselves and other, we are injuring each other and the worse of all, we  trending to meet or hang out sit in front of the computer, leaving physical contact die out.

BEST IDEAS OF SPACE PANEL

Best ideas:

For this panel, we had all more or less the same idea and we find the same issues, so because of this, we are choosing everyone´s ideas, even they want to explain the same:

“Investigating does not mean to be all day in the laboratory, is to imagine”- Enrique Reina

"I think that the investigation is essential to solve all this type of problems because its always need the study of the things."- Pedro Robles

"Space is not only technology, there is a lot of science behind it." - María Victoria

"I believe that the future of the human being is far away from Earth"- Fernando Villamarín

As a group, we believe that this are the best ideas of the group because there are the ones that are able to englobe all the pros and cons of space panel.

SPACE PANEL

Space panel
Enrique Reina:

Mr. Elías Atienza Alonso

 “Humanity is confronting big issues”
“The world is progressing through investigations, such as technical as social ones”
“Investigating does not mean to be all day in the laboratory, is to imagine”

Mr. Javier López Rubio (jlr@navair.es)

“To reach space, one of the paths to follow are the enterprises and the people that compose them.”
“An enterprise is not composed only by the people, it is also composed by values.”
“The values that compose an enterprise are commitment, innovation and quality”

Mr. Eduardo López González

“ESA has a developing complement englobing the civil development and technological development”
“ESA is the space gate of Europe to space.”
“To go to space we only need a good idea.”

Mr. Raúl Carballo Rubio

eLISA: the future of gravitational waves.
The astrophysics tries to understand the received information from space.

Main Idea:
What I took in clear from the talk, is that space is just another boundary for humans. We want to discover more and more and to do that, we need to invest in the space industries. Not only people, also money and food ideas. Along the talk, the guests have showed us the importance of know about the new industries and the need of the development of this new rising technologies.

Fernando Villamarín:
  •          Humanity is facing a lot of problems altogether.
  •          We need ideas, and they come from research.
  •          Societies will not move forward if there is nobody researching.
  •          Limiting research’s resources is an error.
  •          Space career is a competition between countries.
  •          Space technology is expected to return the money invested into it.
  •          Every activity related with space requires a huge amount of resources.
  •          Space programs require companies and people supporting them.
  •          A company is made out of people, but also values.
  •          Space = engineering + quality.

I believe that the future of the human being is far away from Earth, as our planet will become small for us. Therefore, we should invest on developing space technology, and researching for innovative ideas, that allow us develop our activity in space.

Pedro Robles:

There are two essential parts in a spatial business: Quality and engineering.

As D. Javier López Rubio said the quality and the engineering are the pillars of a spatial business. As well as those, creativity and imaginary are very important bases on this panel. I have chosen this idea because I´m 100% in favor of the fact that creativity is essential to obtain new ideas and better quality for the business.

Without investigation, we couldn´t solve any type of social, technological, economical, problems.

I think that the investigation is essential to solve all this type of problems, because it´s always need the study of the things.
María Victoria:

Mr. Elías Atienza Alonso

·         Society will not move forward if there is no one investigating.
·         Ideas transform in the investigation and these in new products.

Mr. Javier López Rubio

·         To be in space for 60 min you will need to pay 100000 dollars.
·         Nowadays China´s National Space Administration (CNSA) is the space business nº1 in the world.

Mr. Eduardo López González

·         Space is not only technology, there is a lot of science behind it.
·         Big challenges and costs lead to space, therefore it requires a lot of group work.

Mr. Raúl Carballo Rubio

·         There are objects which do not emit light neither produces electromagnetic waves, but do produce gravitational waves; they are called black holes.
·         Gravitational waves do exist but we cannot perceive then due to our capacities, however we can measure them.

Main Idea

After the Space Panel, I would say that for everything related to space is required many resources as it implies really high costs. In addition to this we need investigation for everything which will mean we also need it to everything related to space which also requires high costs as these companies invest a lot in space materials, designing, creating, etc.

BEST IDEAS OF: WATER & GOVERNANCE PANEL

Water panel:

For this panel, we had all more or less the same idea and we find the same issues, so because of this, we are choosing everyone´s ideas, even they want to explain the same:

"...over the world there are many people without water because it is not well distributed despite the fact that there is enough water."- Maria Victoria

"This administration problem is producing the death of 1 of every 6 children in zones as Africa, Asia…"- Pedro Robles

"Lots of people have no access to one of the keys of life, water."- Enrique Reina

"...the biggest problem of water is trying to deliver it to everybody"- Fernando Villamarín

"...make a fair distribution of water..."- Luis Rodriguez

Governance Idea:

"...the governancconcept consists of the decision making."-María Victoria

"Technology might give a boost to the governance..."-Pedro Robles

" ...citizens should receive information about governance"-Luis Rodriguez

"...a lot of countries refuse to be so transparent and give so much information, which is the base of corruption."-Fernando Villamarin

" ...citizens should receive information about governance"-Luis Rodriguez

"If we can reach this "objectives", we will be more and more near to a utopia."-Enrique Reina
Objectives: The ones showed above.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a group, we think that this are the bests ideas, because of the fact that each one explains the main issues of the presented problems. However, we do not present many solutions. Because of that, here are our solutions for the issues that present each panel:

Solution for WATER panel:

As the main problem that we found is the distribution of water, our solution for this issue, would be creating an special Governmental Global Transport Organisation, in charge of transporting water to places where they struggle with the obtainance of this liquid.Indeed, a problem of this solution maybe would the cost or the money needed to realise this project, however, the happiness of the people has no price.

Solution for GOVERNANCE panel:

For this, we presented 5 main issues, indeed, the solution is simple. We have to reach a relation between the governance and the people, that lead to the a more clear relationship and this one will fight for our rights. However, first of all, people need to be informed and know about governance and the best way of expanding information is through the new raising technologies.

WATER & GOVERNANCE PANEL

WATER PANEL:

María Victoria:

D. Agustín Argüelles
Access water is a difficult issue for a big sector of the world population.

2400 million people do not have access to water sanitation.

D. Pedro Rodríguez
Water is a concept and a right we should own.
We do not have awareness about the use of water as it is a routine.

D. Ricardo García
There is enough water in the world, however, there is no equity in its distribution.
Guarantee the accessibility of water.

Main Idea
From the panel I conclude that all over the world there are many people without water because it is not well distributed despite the fact that there is enough water, however, people still have the problem that they might have water but it is no sanitation and they can even get some diseases.

Pedro Robles:

Main Idea

There is enough water in the world to supply the earth´s population, but there is a management problem. There are 1400 million km3 of water in the whole world. We don´t know how to share the water equitably in between all the members of the world´s population. This administration problem is producing the death of 1 of every 6 children in zones as Africa, Asia…, so we should drastically change this know!

Enrique Reina:

Main idea:

Lots of people have no access to one of the keys of life, water. Along all the talk, the guests showed us how difficult is life without the right access of water. Due to this, we need to find a way to transport water to this people. There is enough water, however, there is not a fair distribution of it. Is simple, without water, we die. Indeed, what I took in clear from the talk, was how difficult is life without water and how easy would be to transport, with only some organisation.

Fernando Villamarín:

  • Water demand will increase by a 40% in 50 years.
  • There is a problem of scarcity and difficulty of access to water.
  • In Spain, the 70% of water consumed is for agriculture.
  • There is enough water for everybody, but there is a problem of management.
  • Water is a human right.
  • The councils are the ones responsible on managing the water to all of its citizens.
  • The water must return to the rivers.
  • Residual water depuration is going to be penalized in the future.
  • Nobody would get his water supply cut if he cannot pay it.
  • The problem of water is equality in its delivery.

I believe that the biggest problem of water is trying to deliver it to everybody, because, in some places, a portion of the population do not have access to water. Therefore, I think that if these people had access to more developed water extraction, like deep wells; and water depuration system, their life quality would increase a lot. On the other hand, if water depuration systems were improved, the availability of water would increase, as the environmental impact would decrease.

Luis Rodriguez:

D. Agustín Argüelles Martín:

There is a problem of scarcity and access to water use for a large portion of the world population.

1.2 billion people have difficulties to access to water.

Only 2.5% of all water on earth is freshwater.

D. Pedro Rodríguez Delgado:

Water is a natural resource, but we need to make them reach the houses.

There are many countries in the world which have supply problems.

D. Ricardo García Pérez:

How to manage a fair and equitable sharing of water is the main challenge or goal.

MAIN IDEA:

The main conclusion or purpose is to make a fair distribution of water as there is a huge inequality in areas, plenty of water and others where the lack of water is really shocking. We need to find the way of transporting huge and extremely big amounts of water that way we will decrease the bad water distribution.

Also, another good solution is to find a method or technology that can transform or turn salt water into fresh water because only the 2.5% of all water in earth is freshwater.

GOVERNANCE PANEL:

María Victoria:

D. Manuel Gracia
The world has changed, therefore, governance also has to change.
Citizens need to know the most information available so they can take part at the time of making decisions.

D. José Manuel Cervera
Governance is a symptom between the distance citizens – governance.
One problem of the distance of governance and citizens is the distance between the evolution of technology and governance.

Dña. Mª Cruz Arcos
Global problems need global solutions to be solved.
The concept of governance needs to be wider and cover more areas rather than politics.

D. Javier Cuenca
Advocacy is the capacity of influencing the ones who take decisions.
We need to pay attention to those who make decisions about our government.

Main Idea
After the governance panel, everyone who took part concluded that transparency is one of the most important things to governance and this concept consists of the decision making.

Pedro Robles:

"The new governance has to be base on technologies."

This quote, said by D. Manuel Gracia Navarro, shows perfectly the impact that technologies are having in the world. We have seen before, technologies in education and health, and know in governance. The governance is suffering a huge change, and as the speakers said, it´s necessary to raise again a lot of things. Technology might give a boost to the governance, and it´s a great idea that I liked to share.

Enrique Reina:

Mr. Manuel García Navarro:

A more transparent governance

More and more, we have in our lives more opinions and less information

Mr. José Manuel Cervera Cragera

Each governace should have these purposes:

-Legality: Country and system

-A mature governator

-Efficacy and transparency

Mss. Mª Cruz Arcos Vargas

The global issues require global answers.

Mr. Javier Cuenca Villén

Children need a serie of rights that protect them.

MAIN IDEA

What I took in clear from what the guests had exposed about, is that we have to fight for our duties and rights. we have to protect the children because they are the future of our country and we have to look for a relation between the governance and the people, which is transparent. If we can reach this "objectives", we will be more and more near to a utopia.

Fernando Villamarín:
  • We live in a globalized world.
  • With the internet, the governments should be more transparent.
  • Citizens should have access to information, in order to be able to take place in the government.
  • Government should be respectful with diversity in order to be effective.
  • The government should use effectively new technologies, in order to deliver information to the population.
  • We are in a time of change, and that is reflected in the stability of the countries.
  • The government should be legalized; nothing can be above the law.
  • The governors should be responsible, and carry out the obligations.
  • Global problems require global solutions.
  • The multinational companies are those who make a profit from the division of the world in countries.
What I have clear about government is that it should be transparent and citizens should know what their government is doing at any moment. For this purpose, technology is crucial, as it is the most effective way to deliver information to a lot of people. This would be very beneficial, but a lot of countries refuse to be so transparent and give so much information, which is the base of corruption.

Luis Rodriguez:

Mr. Manuel Gracia Navarro:

Transparent governance means that citizens should have as much information as possible to influence and participate in decision-making.

New technologies have allowed access to global information.

Mr. José Cervera Gragera:

There is a distance between the daily life of citizens and governance.

A significant contradiction is the distance between economic developments and the evolution of governance.

Mss.  Mª Cruz Arcos Vargas:

The concept of governance should cover all areas of social relations.
Mr. Javier Cuenca Villén

Political advocacy has a lot to do with governance. Political influence is the ability to influence decision makers.

MAIN IDEA:

The conclusion is that citizens should receive information about governance because it is an essential factor in our society and y most people have never heard before its definition or function.

The main solution for citizens to know this significant term in our society is spread by social networks. This would be a great idea.

Best Ideas of: Food and Health Panel

HEALTH PANEL:

Enrique Reina

What I took in clear of this panel, is that we have to think in others. We have inside us the power of saving people and he have to be conscious that we have to look for new ways of implementing the new technologies to find new ways of solve the problems of transplanting organs.

María Victoria

One of the most important thing is to think of solutions before it appears the problem.

Also we ned to take into account how important is to donate organs if we can, I mean, if we do not have any disease or tumor we should donate the organ required because we can really help someone.

Fernando Rivero

I conclude that in order to improve health and life quality, we need to investigate and improve the technology. Besides, we need to concern people about donation to help other people and warn them about the risks of diseases.

Pedro Robles

What do teenagers find in drugs?
Lot of teenagers consume drugs to get away from the problems with friends, parents… As well as this, they consume drugs to relax, or evenly “to have fun”.

These arguments that D. Francisco Herrera del Pueyo argued, are the ugly truth. We should change this through the support of psychologists in schools or everywhere to try and change the mentality of these guys.

Nowadays, Andalusia is leader in the donation-transplantation of organs.

As I previously share in twitter, we should be proud of this amazing statistic. 10 years ago, we were the last autonomous community in Spain in organs donation. Now we are the first. This drastic change had changed the life of lot of people. A person that is an organ donor will give to the receptor, almost 56 years of life, with that organ. This makes me think, that there should be more and more donors to keep on saving lives.

Luis Rodriguez
We need to concern people the idea that how important and essential transplants are for people who are in a really critical condition or state. Thanks to the contribution or donation of organs we could save lives and give this person up to 50 years, we can be heroes for those persons.

On TV or social networks, it is common to see advertising against snuff or drugs that make us see the danger of these global problems, but it is so common to see and learn about the lives we could save if we become organ donors?

Conclusion:
From all this idea, as a group, we decided that the best ideas were the idea of Pedro and Luis Rodriguez, due to the fact that they are able of englobing all the characteristics that were treated with the guests and summarising them, using a language that can be understanded by everyone easily and apporting the ability for people to unerstand what they are reading without being present in the talk/debate with the guests.

FOOD PANEL:

María Victoria

Nutrition is a big issue, so big that it can cause death as well as it can affect us in different fields such as education, so as a consequence for this bad nutrition is a big problem especially in poor countries, so we need to think how to solve this bad nutrition.

Fernando Villamarín

I conclude that in order to provide food for everyone, it is mandatory political support and people to be concerned about this global issue. On the other hand, I do believe that this problem could be partially solved by the improvement of certain technology to enhance production and distribution, but I think that the main engine to solve undernourishment are people.

Enrique Reina

I think that we need to solve the problems that poverty give us, so we can solve then the malnutrition and the distributive problems, so the food can reach this poor places. We live in a country where the rich people have too much, more than what they need and poor people have less than what they should need or even nothing.

Pedro Robles:

Malnutrition is hereditary.

Malnutrition is a disease caused by an inappropriate diet, low calories and low protein. This disease is commonly found at least in developed countries, in where poverty bounds. They have a lack of nourishment. If malnutrition is not solved in adults, it will then affect to their descendants.

To try and solve this disease, we should start treating those adults with risk of transferring the disease to the kids and then to the little children.

Luis Rodriguez

The main idea and the principal problem are the inequality that exists between non-developed countries and developed ones. Investigating about this theme, I found out a creepy result or data that show us the inequality between countries in a food context; developed countries wasted so much food that we can feed the lack of food and malnutrition in third world countries.

We need to be humans, think in people who are really in a chilling situation and we need to help them by participating in ONG and trying to help humanity.

CONCLUSION:

As a group, we think that the best ideas were the ones presented by Fernando and Enrique, due to the fact that they were able of focusing in their conclusion the main problem of the food issues, very summarised.

Health panel

Enrique Reina

Mr. Francisco Herrera del Pueyo

"Drugs are the biggest mishap of health."

"Solutions never arrive on time, problems always ahead them."

"Why do younger generations consume drugs? To be able to escape the problems."

What I took in clear from this guest, is that drugs are one of the main problems given with the health of adolescents. This porblems lead to diseases that can be devastating, due to the fact that these problems are generated because of their mind and beliefs.

Mr. Bernardo Foronda Lozano

"Strange diseases: Affect 5 of 10 000 of the population (0.05%)."

"More than a 70% of the ones affected by strange diseases own the disability certificate."

"The 75% of the people affected by strange diseases, have been bullied sometime in their lives, due to their condition."

What I took in clear from this guest, is that strange diseases always affect to a minority of people, which tend to be forgotten or bullied. We should try to inform the population more about this strange diseases, to understand them better and try to give them, the best of us,

Mss. Blanca Miranda Álvarez

"With blood transfusion, a lot of diseases can be treated."

"In Andalucia, each year they are 450 000 treatments with transfused blood."

"The investigations not only need money, they also need the collaboration of the patients."

What I took in clear from this guest, is that thanks to the blood transfusions, we can save a lot of lives, firstly, we need the help of the people and patients.

Mr. Manuel Alonso Gil

"In life, we have to be creative, imaginative and have iniciative."

"Only a 3% of the people who died at hospitals, can be donors."

"We should transplant before, to the ones who need the transplant, over the ones who have more money."

What I took in clear of this guest  is the importance of been donors. In this life, we have to look for opportunities, but not only for us, also others too. Also, I have learned that Andalucia is in the top of the worldwide leaders in donations.

MAIN IDEA:

What I took in clear of this panel, is that we have to think in others. We have inside us the power of saving people and he have to be conscious that we have to look for new ways of implementing the new technologies to find new ways of solve the problems of transplanting organs.

María Victoria

D. Francisco Herrera
Solutions are never on time, problems are usually ahead these possible solutions.
When given a good use to drugs and their substances, are not considered to be problems.
Nowadays it is thought that drugs are not a big deal.

D Bernardo Foronda

In Europe there are 30 million people with rare disease, 3 million people in Spain and in Seville 9000 people.
More than 70% of the patients own a certificate for having a disability.

Dña. Blanca Miranda
A person can help or even safe life to 400 people by donating organs.
The importance of a transplant is the quality of life the patient will have.
Our cells do not have more than 10 years as they are constantly regenerating.

D. Manuel Alonso
Initiative is required to develop certain goals.
Some organs have a limited time for transplants, for example the kidney needs to be donated in of 36 hours.
For the process of donating and transplant there needs to be mora than 100 people implicated.

Main Idea
One of the most important thing is to think of solutions before it appears the problem.

Also we ned to take into account how important is to donate organs if we can, I mean, if we do not have any disease or tumor we should donate the organ required because we can really help someone.

Fernando Villamarín
  • Drugs are one of the biggest problem of health.
  • Solutions never arrive on time.
  • The biggest biggest part of drugs' consumers are teenagers.
  • Drugs are a way of escaping reality.
  • Rare diseases carry a lot of problems, because of the lack of information.
  • An organ donor can help 400 people.
  • From blood, we can get a lot of medical products,
  • We are all humans and have the same needs.
I conclude that in order to improve health and life quality, we need to investigate and improve the technology. Besides, we need to concern people about donation to help other people and warn them about the risks of diseases.

Pedro Robles

D. Francisco Herrera del Pueyo

"Drug is the "disease" of this century"

"They (drugs) have changed the mentality of teenagers and even parents, of how
bad could they be"

"Drugs affect to the brain, having effects in the thoughts."

D. Bernardo Foronda Lozano

"A rare disease affect 5 out of 10.000 people."

"3 million people in Spain suffer rare diseases. Of those, 93 are in our school"

"What can we do for the people that suffer this diseases?"

Dña. Blanca Miranda Álvarez

"Thousands of people are treated with organs transplants."

"A person that is an organ donor will give to the receptor, almost 56 years of life, with
that organ"

"The main objective of the company, is to give the patient a good quality of life."

D. Manuel Alonso Gil

"With should have iniciatives being creative and imaginative."

"People with diseases, cannot be donors."

"The age of the donor do not affect the transplants."

Main Ideas:

What do teenagers find in drugs?
Lot of teenagers consume drugs to get away from the problems with friends, parents… As well as this, they consume drugs to relax, or evenly “to have fun”.

These arguments that D. Francisco Herrera del Pueyo argued, are the ugly truth. We should change this through the support of psychologists in schools or everywhere to try and change the mentality of these guys.

This makes me think, that there should be more and more donors to keep on saving lives.

Luis Rodriguez

D. Francisco Herrera del Pueyo:
  • The drug is the "disease" of the 21st century.
  • The consumption of drugs as a soothing to evade problems is the main excuse that most people who consume them give.
D. Bernardo Foronda Lozano:
  • Rare disease, is one that affects 5 in 10,000 people.
  • 75% of affected people have been discriminated.
Dña. Blanca Miranda Álvarez:
  • Hundreds of thousands of people a year are treated with organ transplants.
  • A person who becomes an organ donor will give someone who needs that organ 56 years of life.
D. Manuel Alonso Gil:
  • They have not yet created artificial organs, because of this, it is necessary and extremely important transplants.
  • To be an organ donor, you must die in a hospital.
Main Idea:

We need to concern people the idea that how important and essential transplants are for people who are in a really critical condition or state. Thanks to the contribution or donation of organs we could save lives and give this person up to 50 years, we can be heroes for those persons.

Food panel

María Victoria

Dña. Mª Isabel Martínez

Bad nutrition can affect the learning of children.

In Burkina Faso, there has been an increase in the last year of a 20% by encouraging breastfeeding.

Since the year, 2000 child mortality has reduced in a 50%.

D. Ángel Marín

The concept of quality is subjective, the consumer establishes its quality.

The consumer is missing too much information about nutrients they buy.

The security of our nutrition is more than control, its protection, prevention, auto control, knowledge, etc.

D. Miguel Valero

There is enough food produced the problem is the distribution, as in many countries they do not have enough resources for this.

There has been given high levels of loose in products towards the absence of storage of the production and consume.

D. Rafael Carmona

The biggest world problem is hunger.

What we should do is to produce food in the whole world, not only for countries which can allow it.

Whereas Canadians can produce a media of 550 liters and Spanish of 200 liters, Africans produce 8 and Indians 12.

Main Idea

Nutrition is a big issue, so big that it can cause death as well as it can affect us in different fields such as education, so as a consequence for this bad nutrition is a big problem especially in poor countries, so we need to think how to solve this bad nutrition.

Fernando Villamarin

  • Undernourishment goes against human rights of the children, as they have the right to fully develop themselves.
  • Undernourishment also affects the cognitive capacities of the children. This also has an impact on education, as children cannot develop their brain.
  • In first world countries, the consumer lacks a lot of information about nutrition and what he is eating.
  • The objective of the food chain is the final consumer.
  • Food is more sophisticated, but the consumer is more demanding.
  • Food production has an environmental impact.
  • Edible products must follow certain regulations.
  • The most important problem of the industry is microbiology.
  • There is enough food for everyone, but not enough distribution.
  • In some countries, they can't cultivate edible products.
  • There are solutions to solve poverty.

Mss. Mª Isabel Martínez Viamonte

The intake of food is not suitable to the nutrients that we need, in the countries.

There are three different types of malnutrition.

A bad nutrition affects to the cognitive prosecution of the children.

What I took in clear of this guest, is that malnutrition is a very big impact issue, which it worldwide consequences affect everyone.

Mr. Ángel Marín Barea

"There is a worldwide issue in the redistribution of richness, where in some places, they produce a lot more than in others."

What I took in clear of this guest, is that we need to solve the problems with food distribution, that will aid with the solution of malnutrition.

Mr. Miguel Valero Valero

We do not know how food is manufactured before it reaches to us.

We are not conscious of what have the nourishment that we intake.

Each year in Europe is more than 5000 of deaths due to salmonellosis.

What I took in clear of this guest, is that as consumers, we have to know what we eat and what they have.

Mr. Rafael Carmona Priego

Vicente Ferrer- "We are in a place where there are obese people and hungry people.

We have to make conscious the population of how to produce the food they need.

There are tools, there are instruments, there are remedies to solve poverty.

What I took in clear of this guest, is that we need to be able of sharing and making the people conscious of how they can produce.

MAIN IDEA:

I think that we need to solve the problems that poverty give us, so we can solve then the malnutrition and the distributive problems, so the food can reach this poor places.

Pedro Robles

Dña. María Isabel Martínez Viamonte

"Malnutrition produce growth retardation"

"51 millions of boys and girls have weight problems."

D. Miguel Valero Valero

"The 20/30% of the food that we eat comes from other countries"

"The objective of our business consist of being oriented to the clients."

D. Ángel Marín Barea

"We are in a developed market"

"We should use education and technology to improve the nourishment distribution"

D. Rafael Carmona Priego

"The famines kills 100.000 people each day."

"Our world is full of obese and hungry people."

Main Idea:

Malnutrition is hereditary.

Malnutrition is a disease caused by an inappropriate diet, low calories and low protein. This disease is commonly found at least in developed countries, in where poverty bounds. They have a lack of nourishment. If malnutrition is not solved in adults, it will then affect to their descendants.

To try and solve this disease, we should start treating those adults with risk of transferring the disease to the kids and then to the little children.

Luis Rodriguez

Dña. Isabel Martínez Viamonte:
128 million people suffer malnutrition around the world.

The malnutrition is a problem that we can avoid and nevertheless many people continue dying every day due to this global problem. "Today there are going to die 16000 persons for reasons that we can easily avoid.

D. Ángel Marín Barea:

We are in an already developed market.

There is a global problem of redistribution.

D. Miguel Valero Valero:
Heart diseases or cancer in more than 40 % of the cases is due to food problems.

We are passive consumers, we eat what they put us ahead.

D. Rafael Carmona Priego:
The current food crisis is the major problem of the humanity.

We are in an unequal world, obese persons and persons that they starve.

Main Idea:

The main idea and the principal problem are the inequality that exists between non-developed countries and developed ones. Investigating about this theme, I found out a creepy result or data that show us the inequality between countries in a food context; developed countries wasted so much food that we can feed the lack of food and malnutrition in third world countries.

We need to be humans, think in people who are really in a chilling situation and we need to help them by participating in ONG and trying to help humanity.

We have selected these ideas as the best ones because we think that they represent the actual problems or issues that the guests presented to us. We thought as a group that we should include the best idea of everyone, due to the fact that we think that all of us can apport something. Finally, we believe that the selected ideas were the best because of the fact that they were able to englobe the main problem of each panel.

Education panel- María Victoria Rodríguez

D. José Antonio Barrera
We should assume risks and look for solutions.
Create something because you want is the motivation everyone looks for.
Our knowledge is improving so much and so quickly due to technology.

D. Álvaro Vioque
Technology means growth which means improvement in education.
There are 6 out of 10 Spanish students leave the country to look for work outside it.
However, 4 out of 10 Spanish students stay and do not have a defined job.

Dña Patricia Giménez
The efficiency of education is not as good as it could be.
We should not be afraid of having a flexible mind and investigating.

Dña Cristina Durán
A problem that many students have, is the issue that they study to pass the exam but not study to learn.
It is very important to be the protagonist in our own learning.

Main Idea
Education is evolving due to technology however we are leaving behind certain issues. Even though technology has evolved a lot there are still many ideas towards an improvement.

Fernando Rivero Díaz

The flaws of education are:
  • There is no internal motivation from the students in the traditional education system.
  • In order to make education efficient, the person who is learning must realize that what he is learning is good for him.
  • The educational programs should be adapted to modern education.
  • The education system should prepare the students with the tools and techniques that will be required in the future.
  • Efficient education = effective technology implementation.

I conclude that modern education should implement technology effectively. Therefore, I believe that there is a symbiotic between technology and education: with better technology, education improves. With better-prepared students, we would be able to produce better technology and so on.

Enrique Reina

Guests: Mr. José Antonio Barrera, Mr. Álvaro Nioque, Mss. Patricia Giménez, and Mss. Cristina Durán

These 3 guests exposed really good and clear points of what is education and what could it be.

The ideas that I took from their debate were:

Education has 2 main problems. One the one hand, of them is the motivation. Kids are not motivated and one reason because of this could be that teachers are not waking up the interest in the students. On the other hand, we have the problem that the speed of knowledge increases with the development of the new technologies and this may end with a bad election of the themes that we have to study.

We have to find a way of implementing effectively the new technologies in the academic field.

Teachers have to see in the students, the person that they are, not the student that they are.

Finally, the last problem is that students do not learn always. Nowadays the most important things for students is the mark that they obtain in exams, however when they are asked after a long time what they have learned, they do not remember the learned stuff. This sums up with the following quote from Mss. Cristina Durán: "Learn from the experience of life and take the initiative".
Pedro Robles

Motivation is necessary at education.

In my opinion, motivation is one of the main problems in the education of these days. There are not so many teachers that motivate pupils to love the subjects of the school. As Dña Cristina Duran said, teenagers study for the exams, only to obtain suited academic results, while the main goal of them, should be to have an excitement of learning. If students aren´t motivated by teachers, they would never work comfortably in their future jobs.

Technologies in education.

The second idea is to effectively institute the technology in education.

As D. Álvaro Vioque said, technology in education would permit students to develop new abilities, critical thinking… To reach a rise in the educational efficiency, technology must be used with responsibility at schools. The goal is not to know, how to use technologies. The goal is to know if students are able to use them, in such a way that they learn more.

D. Miguel Méndez Jiménez

The environment is a general concept with economic, society and ethic consequences.
The principal effects of the climate change are not as obvious as it seems.
The health is affected by the climate change especially for those who are in difficult economic situations.

D. Carlos Rojo Jiménez

Andalucia is one of the regions of Europe with huge quantities of renewable energy.
In Spain the renewable energy sector has been a business opportunity for many people.
We should be aware on the cost that implies our quality of life.

D. Francisco José Juan Rodríguez

If there is no consuming, there is no growth therefore no jobs are created. The resources are limited and even if we recycle we have to give more use to certain things.
The energy consume is not where the population is: the population is in Far Eastern countries and the energy consume is in the Western World.
The climatology of the country affects the environment as well as some habits of the citizens.

D. Juande D. Fernández

There is an existent link between any type of countries and its industrial development.
We are the future and we should think on possible solutions towards environment problems.
When talking on the climatic change we talk about ecology, but above everything we talk about humanism.

Main Idea
The climate change is one of the main factors which affects the world environment. Renewable energy can open doors to the world in many aspects.

Enrique Reina

Mr. Miguel Méndez Jiménez:

"The first mistake is to attach the problems of the climatic change with the environment."

I believe that what he said is true, we have to think that the climatic changes affect everything in out life, not only at our environment.

Mr. Carlos Rojo Jiménez
“Be conscious of the quality that we have adopted.”

I believe we have get used to a life where we have everything solve. We have adopted a style where we depend in the things that surround us and we can do mostly nothing without these utilities that are dangerous for our ecosystem.

Mr. Francisco José Juan Rodríguez

“We have big problems like humanity have them as a set.”

I agree with Mr. Francisco José Juan Rodríguez because the problems that we have nowadays, are related with the difficulties that life has set to us, where these problems are the solution that we gave as result of our global decisions.

Mr. Juande D. Fernández

“When we speak about environmental changes, we speak about humanism”

Again, we have the same problem of above, as a global group, we have chosen the bad decisions that have decay in our worlwide problems.

MAIN IDEA:

We have to be conscious of what we do so we can overcome the problems that as humans, we have committed, by the use of renewable energies.

Pedro Robles
D. Miguel Méndez Jiménez

“The planet is constantly changing, because of the constant dynamism of it.”

The human activity is having a huge impact on the quality and behavior of the planet. So that, we say that the earth is constantly changing.
D. Carlos Rojo Jiménez

“We might live an Energetic Revolution on the next years.”

The humanity had suffer other kind of revolutions as the Industrial revolution, centuries ago, that had changed the live at earth considerately. We might be changed again in a few years with this constant earth dynamism.

D. Francisco José Juan Rodríguez

The key to achieve the environmental change, is in the citizen.

If the citizen is not able to throw waste products to the bin, who is going to do it? We would need to change to have a better environment.
D. Juan de Dios Fernández
Climate changes cause extinctions.

The adaptations of the living things in the environment are struggled because of the fast evolution of the earth. For that reason, there have been 5 enormous extinctions since origin of the earth.

Fernando Villamarín

  • The planet is changing. Human activity affects the behaviour of the planet.
  • It is necessary a change of the energetic structure. Renewable energies need political support.
  • Educating and convincing the population, we can save a lot of money in cleaning.
  • Increasing the useful life of things, no employment is generated.
  • We need a sustainable lifestyle to increase our time on Earth.

It is imperating to stop Global Warming and control our greenhouse effect gases, in order to increase our lifestyle quality and our time on Earth. I believe that this could be achieved by technical advance, but the main change engine is in educating people.

Luis Rodriguez
Energy industries are interested in the final use of the energy.
A main problem in this field is how is oil transported from one place to another. Nowadays, the most common way to transport oil is in huge boats and is not a really confident way in relation to protect our environment. More than one time, there were some problems with these boats and they sank, causing terrible results such as polluting a really big area of the ocean and killing a high number of members of our environment. A possible solution is finding another way to transport oil that can´t cause this environmental disaster.

Today we have such a big number of technologies that can improve the pollution of the environment in this energetic area. Another problem is the environmental damage that CO2 cause. Using these technologies, we need to find another way to avoid CO2.
A positive aspect in relation with avoiding CO2 is that nowadays we have some energy sources that do not carry on or produce CO2 such as: nuclear, wind or solar energy.
An incredible result for the region we live is that 39% of the energy consumed in Andalusia is renewable.

The objective of the majority of national energy industries is to transform the actual energy model into a modern and less polluting model.
